Carly is 5 years old. She was born with cystic kidneys. She had normal fingers and toes and was only 6 pounds. She quickly grew, and by 6 months was around 25 pounds. She was diagnosed with BBS at birth due to the kidney presentation and our family history of BBS.
Carly has been slow to keep up with her peers. She is still not speaking clearly. She is having increased trouble with vision, and is VERY active!
Carly knows nearly all her alphabet letters and many sounds. She has done very well in a structured preschool program for children with special needs. She has also gone to daycare with normal peers since she was a year old.
Big attitude - Small package! Carly is such a great kid! She is funny, she is naughty, she is sweet and cuddly all rolled up into one! She is just a pleasure to be around! Carly loves playing on the computer, she loves her blankie, and My Little Pony. She loves to swim and is a busy little girl - always on the go!
Carly starts regular kindergarten this fall. Hopefully she will be able to be in the regular classroom for a long time. She has many delays educationally - so we will have to see how it goes!
